A Place of Sacrifice

Super cool fact I learned today that I never knew:

Abraham climbed Mt. Moriah in obedience to God to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. When His son asked, "Dad, where's the lamb for the burnt offering?" (of course not knowing it was HIM), Abraham answered, "God will provide the lamb for the burnt offering." Which, of course, He did.

BUT, did you know that Mt. Moriah ALSO is the place where Calvary was located, just outside the city walls?!? Yep. Abraham told his son, "God will provide the lamb himself" and He did, on that day and then again thousands of years later with Jesus...on the very same mountain.

Wild stuff, huh? You would think after years of private school, seminary, and wife-ing I might have known something totally awesome and cool like that, but I'm glad I didn't. I'm glad God saved that beautiful little tidbit to show me today.
